FROM THE VOICE OF ST.STEPHEN'S NEWSLETTER
The Vicar’s Moment…   by the Rev. Taylor B.  Clark
Over the past 47 years, Christ has held me, led me, and healed me. I know I am no unusual recipient of God’s grace, for it is by His grace that He has carried me these many years.  I witness many here who have followed Jesus since their earliest memories. Many have trusted and responded to him throughout their lives, showing their love for God in Christ and compassion for their brothers and sisters in need. Right here in St. Stephen’s, there are those who give of themselves to build up this body of Christ and spread Christ’s love to everyone. Thank you. We have been given, over the past month, the final days of Lent, the entirety of Holy Week, and the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection on Easter Sunday. This past month He comes to us in this Easter season with hope, and we come to Him with gratitude for calling us to be His people. He comes to us with His gift of Himself in our daily lives and in eternal life in the ages to come. We are His children by His grace and compassion. In the past month, a couple of folks who are loved here at St. Stephen’s have gone to be with our Lord, including Joe Stockbridge, a longtime faithful child of God. Karen’s sister, Phyllis, who lived in  Iowa, also went to be with Jesus. Some are sick in body and mind, and we ask for your healing hand and your gracious presence with them in their painful and debilitating condition.   Please keep St. Stephen’s in your prayers as we discern who our new Bishop will be. We pray that the Lord be with us as we seek His will concerning our new Bishop and pastor. Guide us, precious Lord.   Be with us as we continue our ‘Emmaus road’ engagement as He takes, blesses, breaks, and gives us His presence in the Eucharist and His glorious presence in Morning Prayer.
